A total eclipse of the Moon occurs during the early evening of
Wednesday, February 20, 2008. During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon's disk can take on a dramatically colorful appearance from bright orange to blood red to dark brown. It's a leisurely observation that takes several hours and can be quite enjoyable to see with family and friends. See our Departmental website for details:
